Rich Technical History

The roots of our current sensing technology began at Honeywell, the US-based global leader in navigational gyro systems. A spin-off group of experts, several of whom are still with NxtPhase today, applied the very same fiber-optic gyro technology developed for demanding civil & military navigation applications to the measurement of current.

Our voltage sensing technology began as a partnership between the University of British Columbia (UBC) & BC Hydro. Significant technological breakthroughs led to an extremely accurate optical voltage transducer that avoids the environmental concerns of alternative optical or conventional technologies.
