AREVA acquires Nxtphase Inc.

The acquisition of Nxtphase (45 people), a North American company based in Phoenix (USA), reinforces AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division will to position itself as Technology Opinion Leader in the NCIT market.
Through this acquisition, AREVA T&D will reach a technology with powerful technical characteristics and ensure a know-how developed by Nxtphase over the last 20 years.
Nxtphase is considered as a benchmark in NCIT optical sensor technology with numerous patents issued in the domain and numerous products installed.

Therefore, this acquisition enables AREVA to access a break-through optical sensor technology for Instrument Transformers, reinforcing the company’s positioning as a Technology Opinion Leader, and confirming its strong commitment into “Clean Technology”.

Gerhard Seyrling, Executive Vice President for innovation and performance improvement at AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution Division comments: “This acquisition is key for our division. It will enable us to become a technology opinion leader in the NCIT market which is essential in the development of new solutions towards smarter grids.”
